Jonathon’s Chair

jonathon had a Leckey Activity System funded by Australian children's charity I Give A Buck FoundationWhen we met 1 year old Jonathon in June 2011 he was in quite a predicament.

Jonathon had been born here in Australia while his single mum was on a temporary student visa – which meant Jonathon did not qualify for any government assistance despite the fact that he had been born with a severe brain abnormality and needed much medical support and some disability equipment.

Without that equipment, Jonathon’s potential development would be seriously hampered. When his physiotherapist from the Melbourne City Mission Early Intervention Program asked us for help we were only too pleased provide it.

Jonathon needed a specialised early position system called a Leckey Activity System, at a cost of $2,215 and we immediately funded that system for him using some of our emergency funds.

We’ll be keeping in touch with Jonathon’s mum to make sure that he receives everything that he needs before returning to Indonesia when mum’s university course is finished.
