Anna’s appeal is now fully funded from the excess donations from Rupert’s Appeal! Well done everyone. And even better news – when I rang to arrange payment with Balwyn Leisure Centre (where Anna’s lessons are) they told me that the Term 4 fees had already been paid by members of the community in response to the newspaper article – so our funding will fund Term 1 next year! Anna now has access to her special lessons until Term 2 2011!

Great news! One of our Board Members, Liat Harrower, is gifting IGAB with a range of equipment that was once used by her son, Mitchell. Mitchell passed away 2 years ago, aged 8, and since then much of the equipment has been on loan (free of charge) to other families in need. Included in the equipment is a pressure care mattress that is perfect for Rupert!
Many thanks to Liat for this wonderful offer – the family is thrilled and so are we. In keeping with the spirit in which Liat has used the equipment in the past, IGAB will be forming an ‘equipment bank’ of re-usable items to be made available on loan free of charge to the families of children in need.
The funds raised so far in Rupert’s Appeal will be put towards Anna’s Appeal and our next appeal – due to launch next week – so there are many wonderful flow-on effects from Liat’s generosity.
